Los Angeles California Child Custody Attorney Atousa Saei discusses California child support laws and what to do if the other parent wants full custody.
Sometimes I get calls from frantic parents telling me that they just received paperwork in the mail where the other parent is requesting full custody of their child. The first thing I tell them is to calm down and to come in and let me review the paperwork. Because often times what the other parent believes is the basis of full custody doesn’t amount to what the court would require to grant one parent full custody. The court looks at the best interest of the children. It is seldom that the court will find that the best interest of the children is to keep them away from the other parent.
